Tomorrow many people will gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is one of the few that has not been completely commercialized. Friends and family will gather together for a day of great food, stories, and of course football.
But not everyone will be as fortunate. In these tough economic times many will stuggle to put food on the table, some do not have homes, and others will be alone – without family or friends.
Please take the time today to be thankful for what you have and if you can – perhaps do something for those that are struggling and don’t have as much in these difficult times. A small donation to the local food pantry or homeless shelter may make a big difference in someone’s life.
Thanksgiving is a time for being thankful for not only what we have but for what we can do.
